HOG TORTURING COUNTY MANAGER FIRED!
HOG TORTURING COUNTY MANAGER FIRED!
BREAKING NEWS! EXCLUSIVELY ON STOP BAD GOVERNMENT!
Andy Stevens, the manager in charge of the county program to control the feral hog population in Charlotte County “resigned” (read:fired!) yesterday.
Sources tell Stop Bad Government that Mr. Stevens, a long time county employee, so mishandled the investigation into the torturing of one feral hog, that it brought Charlotte County’s policy under an unflattering nationwide spotlight by PETA and local animal rights groups when gruesome photographs of the killing were revealed to the media.
Less than a month ago, the Charlotte County Commissioners publicly supported the county’s internal investigation, which critics called a “whitewash”. No charges were filed and no disciplinary action taken against anyone involved. Mr. Stevens’ termination is a tacit admission that the county’s investigation was flawed.
Animal rights groups here in Charlotte County continue to dig into the state and county investigation, which dismissed the killing as a “non-story”, according to County Commissioner Patricia Duffy.
Sources also tell Stop Bad Government there is much more information they will soon bring to light about the investigation, including disturbing information about the county employee who trapped and killed the hog. That information includes multiple incidences with law-enforcement.
Stay tuned to Stop Bad Government for details on how the Charlotte County administration, County Commissioners, the State Attorney’s Office and the FWC all mishandled the inhumane killing and torture of a wild animal and the “investigation” that followed.
