Charter Review Board
DO YOU CONSENT TO 18 YEAR TERM LIMITS FOR FOR YOUR LEADERS AND IMPOSSIBLE LIMITATIONS ON YOUR RIGHT TO ALTER YOUR GOVERNMENT WHEN IT BECOME TYRANNICAL?
The Charter Review Board installed by the Commissioners has decided that the structure of government in Charlotte County doesn’t need any real improvement.
These are the “amendments” proposed:
· Reduction of percentage of electors needed to initiate county ordinances.
· Deletion of restriction of reestablishment of MSTU/MSBU advisory boards created by petition of electors.
· Annual report of MSTU/MSBU advisory boards.
· Creating term limits for Charter Review Commission members.
Term limits of 18 years.
The “reduction” is higher than recommended by citizens and much to high to allow any real alterations by the people.
These MSBT/MSBU boards are hand-picked by the Commissioners.
The first public hearing was scheduled for 5 p.m. April 27 Additional meeting times will be announced.
