COMMISSION WRONG ABOUT SEWERS

Commission wrong about sewers

Editor:

Want to make $65,000 a year for a part-time job that requires a minimum of common sense? Run for county commissioner. Their actions at the sewer project meeting last Wednesday was an apt demonstration of their shortsightedness.

This meeting had seven separate sewer projects to be discussed and it went on for over seven hours. Did they really expect everyone to stay there all night?

My area is the Ackerman/ Countryman project, next to last on the agenda. I don’t know how many people lasted the whole seven hours, I know I didn’t. So I got no chance to tell them how misguided this project is, or that none of the residents are in favor of it and their so-called science is misguided. My septic system is working correctly, there is absolutely no proof to the contrary.

I do not need a sewer and do not want one. And I absolutely cannot afford one. And I will not hook up to it. I can’t get straight answers from anyone. Who decided this is a good idea?

Who decided that everyone would have the money for the tax increase? Some folks will have to decide between eating and taxes.

We need another meeting to be scheduled. If this is not done, I suggest that we in these affected areas have our own meeting at the County Commission office. A few hundred people might get someone’s attention. In the meantime, call your commissioner and tell them “no sewers,” 941- 743- 1300.
